The B/C All-Stars Basketball Camp, an “Invitation Only” camp, is recognized as the Nation’s all time premier b-ball sport camps. For 16 years the legendary B/C All-Stars sports camps provided the ultimate in instruction, competition and exposure to college coaches.
“I have attended many camps around the country and left B/C with the feeling that I saw more players than any I have ever attended,” Denny Crum, former coach of the University of Louisville’s two-time National Champions.
We call it “saturation basketball” where the finest high school players across America congregated. B/C represents the best high school players each year from more than 44 states participated in our sessions (in addition to “Junior B/C” & “Big Man”). B/C All-Star reads like a Who’s Who in the basketball world. Boy’s camps have featured such heralded legends such as Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Magic Johnson…Larry Bird…. Dominique Wilkins…Isiah Thomas… Karl Malone…Kevin McHale…Charles Barkley…Hakeem Olajuwon. Girl’s camps countered with headliners like Nancy Lieberman…Carol Blazejouski…Jackie Joyner-Kersee…Katrina McClain….Teresa Edwards….Teresa Weatherspoon plus the last two Wade Trophy winners, Jennifer Azzi and Daedra Charles.
College coaches likewise flocked to B/C in massive numbers. Each year we welcomed an amazing 1,356 to our nine regular sessions – including 277 to our boy’s Indiana II bonanza.
“B/C All-Stars was the premier opportunity for exposure to college coaches at all levels,” heralds Pat Summit, coach of the University of Tennessee’s (5) National Women’s Champions.
Quality instruction? A total of 145 B/C staff coaches have graduated to college or pro positions in 15 years!
B/C also ranked as the most publicized camp in America. We’ve been featured in Sports Illustrated, Basketball Weekly, Basketball Times, as well as countless big city newspapers that visited us annually – Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Philadelphia Inquirer, Louisville Courier-Journal, Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Dallas Morning News, etc.
Players did not go unnoticed at B/C.

B/C: WHEN IT BEGAN
B/C debuted in 1977 with a single boys session in Milledgeville GA, - and became an instant success story of our initial 160 campers, 18 forged their way into the NBA. A trio of all-stars – Dale Ellis, Mark Aguire and Buck Williams – headed the list that also includes pros Antoine Carr, John Paxton and Mike Sanders.
Of our initial 16 staff coaches, seven advanced to college positions – Ron Felling with Indiana, Dorsey Sims with Memphis State, Bob Chambers with Kentucky, Tevester Anderson with Georgia, Bob Smith with West Virginia and Gene Davis with Furman. Two others, Don Richardson of Macon Southwest, GA and Jerry Leggett of Quincy IL – proceeded to win national high school championships, and three more emerged as the winningest coaches in their state’s history – the late Harvey Reid, Jr. in North Carolina, Don Wallen in Florida and Howard Sharp in Indiana.
Of our initial seven college counselors, six played in the NBA and sportscaster Jack Givens led Kentucky to the 1978 National Championship. Camp Directors, Bill Bolton and Bill Cronauer, teamed up to bring big-time summer basketball to the South – and the nation. Bolton was an assistant coach at top-10 power Florida State University. he achieved the reputation as one of the nation’s premier recruiters in route to the National Championship game versus John Wooden’s UCLA Bruins.
Bill Bolton saw the need to create a camp that made it easy for major college coaches to evaluate the nation’s top players compete prior to their senior year.
Bill Cronauer was a sportswriter with the St. Petersburg Times as well as editor of the B/C Scouting Service, America’s foremost recruiting publication. B/C All-Stars elevated in 16 years as the nation’s premier exposure camp.
But year number one, - 1977 in Milledgeville Ga – still holds a special meaning….
